Autumn Chantel Alisha Mehl, 29, residing in Berrien Springs, Michigan, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born Oct. 19, 1986, in Berrien Center, Michigan to Edward M. Hernandez and Cheryl K. (Struble) Wilkie, and has remained a lifelong area resident.

On June 26, 2011 in Niles, Michigan, Autumn married Charles Alexander “Alex” Mehl, who survives. She is also survived by her children, Logen A. Potthoff, Carsen A. Mehl, Alena Hope Mehl, Hudsen T. Mehl and Caleb G. Mehl, all of Niles; parents, Edward M. Hernandez of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Cheryl K. (Don) Wilkie of Berrien Center, Michigan; brother, Gabriel C. Hernandez of Berrien Springs, Michigan; paternal grandmother, Matilde Hernandez of Benton Harbor, Michigan; and maternal grandfather, George Boston of Berrien Center, Michigan; She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Eloise Randall and Vay Struble; and her paternal grandfather, Gonzalo Hernandez.
Autumn was a member of the 2005 graduating class of Berrien Springs, Michigan. She was employed at the Niles -Buchanan YMCA for the past seven years, the last six of which she was a certified Zumba instructor. She was also a world team level distributor for Herbal Life.
Funeral services for Autumn will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 in the Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M-140, Berrien Center, Michigan. Pastors Bill Zebell and Matt Hickok will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Berrien Center, Michigan. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the church prior to services. Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
