Beckwith Theatre hosting auditions

The Beckwith Theatre Company will host auditions for the drama “Closer” by Patrick Marber at 7 p.m.  Thursday, March 17, and 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19,  at the Beckwith Theatre, located at 100 New York Ave., Dowagiac. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Performance dates are at 7:30 p.m. May 20-21 and 27-28 and May 22 and 29 at 2 p.m.

“Closer” takes place in 1990s England in several different locales over a period of three years. The characters meet, interact, and fall in and out of love and bed with each other, while audiences watch every painful moment.

Roles available (ages listed are approximations);

Alice — female, age 22–24

Anna — female, age 32–36

Dan — male, age 30–35

Larry — male, age 34–40

This production contains adult situations and explicit language. The role of Alice requires onstage dancing/stripping. All roles require a British accent.
