Wanda Lucile “Lucy” Hoffman, 77, of Cassopolis, died suddenly of natural causes early Wednesday morning, Feb. 10, 2016, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana.

She was born April 10, 1938, in Three Oaks, Michigan to Kenneth and Opal (Case) Kempton. She married Herbert Joseph Hoffman Aug. 18, 1956, in Cassopolis, Michigan. He preceded her in death after almost fifty years of marriage May 28, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Patsy Lillie; and brother Glen Kempton.

Lucy loved her kids and grandkids and family. Her house was full of family pictures of every sporting event and family reunion and lots of Cubs memorabilia. Lucy was a diehard Cubs fan and would go to Chicago several times a year, taking along various family members, whether they knew anything about baseball or not. Her favorite player was Ron Santo. Thanksgiving was Lucy’s favorite holiday and she loved cooking for all the family that would gather, always at her house. There was always at least a little of whatever anyone liked with plenty of leftovers. Lucy loved hand making quilts and everyone in the family got at least one.
