Shamrocks hand Bobcats fourth loss in last five games

BERRIEN SPRINGS — The struggles of the Brandywine boys basketball team continued Friday night.

The Bobcats were defeated by host Berrien Springs 56-45 in a BCS Red Division contest.

The loss was the fourth in Brandywine’s last five games and dropped the Bobcats into a first place tie with Bridgman for the division lead at 6-2. Brandywine is 11-5 overall.

The Bobcats led 16-15 after one quarter, but were outscored 41-29 over the final three quarters by the Shamrocks, who improved to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the Red Division.

Devin Nichols scored a game-high 19 points for Berrien Springs, which also got 14 points from Taryll Jones and 12 points from Montiel Pulliam.

Vinny Peel and Austin Knapp, both of whom left the game with injuries, led the Bobcats with 12 points.

Marquise Davis added 10 points.
