Shopko recently concluded its annual United Way Campaign, raising a total of $375,565 for donation to the non-profit organization.  The total amount includes a $100,000 donation from the Shopko Foundation, a corporate campaign developed to support the health of Shopko’s customers, teammates and communities.

“Shopko is leading by example when it comes to creating meaningful change,” said Paul DeBassio, executive vice president of investor relations for United Way Worldwide.  “Whether they’re donating money or supporting volunteerism, Shopko employees are making a real difference.  In 360 markets across 24 states, communities are benefiting from better education, stronger financial stability and healthier environments as a result.  This is an inspiring example of how corporate partners are working with United Way to change lives.”

For more than 40 years, Shopko and its employees across the United States have joined together annually to raise money for their local United Way chapters.

“I am humbled by the caring spirit and commitment of our employees to help raise funds for those in need.  No other organization touches the lives of so many people in the communities we live – our friends, our neighbors, our customers, and our coworkers like the United Way” said Peter McMahon, Shopko CEO.  “The Shopko Foundation is proud to make a donation to support the great work of the United Way in recognition of our corporate campaign.”
