The Dowagiac Area History Museum unveiled its newest addition in grand fashion Thursday afternoon, inviting the community to an open house to celebrate the opening of its new temporary exhibit, “Michigan Eats.”

The dozens of people who attended the event had a chance to learn more about the state’s culinary history through the materials provided through Michigan State University, as well as more about the Dowagiac area’s own past through artifacts from the local museum collection as well as items donated by members of the community.

Visitors also enjoyed hors d’oeuvres consisting of classic Michigan dishes, provided by area catering company Sugarella’s. “Michigan Eats” will be open to public visit until April 30.
