Edwardsburg senior Michael Higley broke the Eddies’ career record for victories Jan. 27 with a pair of wins during a Wolverine Conference quad.

Higley, who is a three-time state placer, now has 176 career wins.

He is currently 41-1 on the season as he begins preparation for the Wolverine Conference Tournament at Allegan Saturday and the state team and individual tournament next week.

Higley, who wrestles at 119-pounds, finished third last year as a junior at the individual state finals, fifth as a sophomore and seventh as a freshman.

He will continue his wrestling career at Wisconsin-Parkside.

Edwardsburg will host the Division 2 Team District Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Eddies will face Niles, while Lakeshore will face St. Joseph in the other semifinal. The championship match will begin 10 minutes after the completion of the last semifinal match.

Tickets are $5 per person and no passes will be accepted.
