Donald Bachman, 71, formerly of Niles, completed his journey and passed away Jan. 29, 2016. He was at home, with his family, as he wished.

He married Judith A. Overholt on Nov. 26, 1966, and she survives.

Other survivors include his son Eric (Jessica) Bachman and daughter Jennifer (Doug) Thompson. Don had six grandchildren: Kayla, Ryan, Sean, Rylee, Carle and Alec. He also leaves behind his brother, Garry (Judy) Bachman of Niles and his sister, Mary Catherine Bachman Banker (Steve) and their three children, Carrie, Tytus and Gregg.

The Niles surrounding community is home to numerous cousins residing there. Don was the oldest McQuaid cousin and he dearly loved each family member.

Don was a graduate of Niles High School Class of 1962 and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1966 with a business degree. He was a successful businessman in the St. Louis, Missouri region. He was a partner/owner of Hartmann Walsh Painting Company and then Lighting Services.

Faith, family and friends were very important to Don. He loved to travel, especially to visit family and friends.

Memorial services will be from 10:30 a.m. until Mass at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at 401 S. Lindberg Blvd., Creve Coeur, Missouri. A reception will follow mass at the Parrish Life Center.
