Two arrested on drug charges after search of Ontwa Twp. home

Two people were arrested on multiple charges after a search revealed a marijuana grow operation, methamphetamine and a gun at a residence in Ontwa Township Thursday.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department recently reported that the county’s drug enforcement team searched an address in the 24000 block of North Shore Drive on suspicion that the use of illegal drugs was occurring along with the illegal possession of firearms.

Detectives found a marijuana grow operation along with multiple items for using methamphetamine and marijuana.

A search of one of the residents yielded a semi-automatic pistol, a bag of methamphetamine and a bag of marijuana.

Two subjects were arrested: a 37-year-old male and a 35-year-old female.

The male was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, felony firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.

The female was charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.

Their names are being with held pending arraignment in Cass County Court.

The investigation is still on going at this time.
