Big second quarter lifts Brandywine to ninth victory

HARTFORD — The Brandywine boys basketball team improved to 9-1 on the season with a 67-46 non-conference victory over Hartford Tuesday night.

The Bobcats led by just a single point (15-14) after one quarter of play, but exploded for 25 points in the second quarter to open up a 40-20 halftime advantage.

The Indians (2-7) never seriously threatened Brandywine the rest of the way, trailing 51-32 heading into the fourth quarter.

Austin Knapp, Vinny Peel and Marquise Davis scored 15, 13 and 10 points respectively, while Hunter Slaughter added nine points.
