Dowagiac wrestling opens tournament in Constantine

The Dowagiac wrestling team will begin its postseason at Constantine for the 2016 Team Wrestling Districts.

The Chieftains will be joined by Coloma, Paw Paw and the host Falcons for the Division 3 tournament, which will begin at 6 p.m. with the semifinals.

Dowagiac will face Constantine on one mat, while Coloma and Paw Paw will square off on the other.

The championship match will be held 10 minutes after the completion of the last semifinal.

The winner advances to the Coloma regional Feb. 17 and will face the winner of the Berrien Springs district in the semifinal. The Berrien Springs district is made up of the host Shamrocks, Buchanan and New Buffalo-Bridgman.

The other semifinal will be district winners from Parchment and Hopkins.

Tickets are $5 per person and no passes will be accepted.
