Louise Cecelia Jones, 77, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Thursday morning, Jan. 21, 2016, in her residence in the presence of her loving family.

She was born Jan. 23, 1938, in New Bremen, Ohio to Wallace and Rosella (Oldiges) Schaefer. She married Freeman “Buddy” Jones May 25, 1991, in Cassopolis, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Rosalie “Leta” Bousman; one sister, Carolyn Wolfe; and two brothers in law, Merlin Campbell and Carl Myers.

Louise was a leader of several 4-H groups throughout the life of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Penn Friends Church in Cassopolis for 35 years where she taught Sunday School. She retired from E. R. Carpenter in Elkhart. Louise was a member of Thespian Troupe 2323.

Louise will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Rose Lary of Dowagiac, Mary Shaffer of Cassopolis, Jackie (Jim) Wolfe of Nappanee, Indiana, two sons, Bill (Becky) Campbell of Grand Rapids, James Bousman, Jr. (Jennie Hall) of Lebanon, Tennessee; two step daughters, Connie Dawson of Dunlap, Indiana, Lori McGill of White Pigeon, Michigan; one step son, Tom Jones of Bristol, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosanne Myers of Celina, Ohio; one brother John (Opal) Schaefer of St. Marys, Ohio; two brothers in law, Gordon Wolfe of Celina, Ohio, Howard (Bonnie) Campbell of Shoreham, Vermont; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Jones’s remains will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Freeman “Buddy” Jones in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cassopolis.

Family and friends will gather in this spring in for a Memorial Service in Penn Friends Church, 19107 Quaker Street, Cassopolis, at a date and time to be announced.

The family prefers contributions be made in Louise’s memory to American Cancer Society, Southwest Michigan Office, 1400 West Milham Street, Portage, Michigan 49024.
