James P. Burhnham, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away at his home on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at the age of 63.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina in 2002. He is survived by his parents, Erma Jo Burnham (Wilmington, North Carolina); James K. Burnham (Angola, Indiana); brother, Chris (Chelsea, Michigan) and sister, Jeanine (Ken) Bartholomew (Wilmington, North Carolina) as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. James was born in Niles, Michigan on June 1, 1952.

He graduated from Niles High School and before retirement had been employed by Southern Michigan News Agency.

He has been laid to rest next to his wife at Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family requests that those who wish to make contributions in James’ memory should do so to the no kill animal shelter of their choice.
