The Cassopolis Mains Street Committee is moving forward with plans to resurrect the Stone Lake ice fishing contest.

Despite a lack of quorum, the committee discussed holding the tournament in February around Michigan’s Free Fishing Weekend, which is Feb. 13-14.

It also discussed how long the tournament should run and what the prizes should be.

The committee is still looking for ideas for a spring event and whether or not it should hold its summer event in conjunction with the Pioneer Log Cabin Museum’s Log Cabin Days.

The Cassopolis Main Street Committee is still in search of one more board member.

The volunteer position requires that the member attend meetings regularly and participate in the committee’s events.
