YMCA offers classes, activities as temperatures cool down

The air is cooling and the leaves are starting fall off the trees. For many, it is time to transition their work-out routine to the indoors. The Niles-Buchanan has many programs and over 100 fitness classes to cater to all the needs of a membership.

Private adult swim lessons — Looking to learn how to swim or improve you’re swimming skills? Enjoy learning in a group class or a private one-on-one lesson.

Family fitness classes — Stay fit together as a family by participating in Family Boot Camp on Monday at 6:30 p.m. and Family Yoga on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Taekwondo — This energetic class focuses on discipline, self-confidence, self-control, and respect, with a strong emphasis on being a good student in school.

Swimming — Swim instruction classes at the Y teach swimming while building skills and confidence. Private and progressive lessons are available.

Just for You — This program is designed for individuals with special needs. Experience dance in a fun and safe environment.

2015 Annual Thanksgiving Day Run — Don’t forget to sign-up for the 10k Run, 5k Run/Walk, and 1 Mile Fun Run. All proceeds from this event benefit the Strong Kids Campaign which provides financial support to families that would like to participate in a Y membership and programs.

Kids Night Out — Niles-Buchanan YMCA is delighted to offer Saturday Kids Night Out on Nov. 14, 2015. Kids will enjoy a safe, fun-filled evening of themed activities which will include swimming, pizza, games, crafts, and a movie. Parents can enjoy their night out, knowing their child is having a blast!

Girls and Boys Youth Basketball Leagues — Registration begins on Nov. 30, 2015, and will continue through December 28, 2015. Playing in an organized sport league helps kids learn how to work with others and develop leadership skills.
