In the youth division Saturday, players ages 14 to 18 competed, while on Sunday, the adult co-ed division was contested.

There were 10 youth teams and six adult teams registered for the tournament.

The Mustangs defeated Niles in the championship match 21-15 and 21-11.

The team consisted of Gillian Gangluff of Penn, Annie Ennesser of Dowagiac, Cali Topoliski of South Bend St. Joseph and Lacy Poczik of Plymouth, Indiana, all of whom are members of Krush Volleyball Club.

In the adult championship game Sunday, Safe Sets beat Swingers 21-14 and 21-11.

That team consisted of new Dowagiac varsity volleyball coach Rachel Zeider, Richard Bass, James Turner and Justin Rosen.

“We had 64 players registered over the two days,” said Dennis Cooper, director of Krush. “That was pretty good considering we have only two courts to work with.”

The event was sponsored by Krush and The Dugout Sports, which provided T-shirts for the winners.
