Howard Twp. All-Stars finish second

The Howard Township 8U All-Stars finished second at the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament hosted by Germantown Babe Ruth in Louisville, Kentucky this past weekend despite losing the first two games of pool play.

The all-stars have the distinction of advancing farther in the Ohio Valley Regional than any other Howard Township team.

Howard responded by defeating St. Matthews 18-2 and Mead County twice, 8-2 and 17-9.

The all-stars were defeated by Newburgh twice, including 14-0 in the championship game.

Winning awards for Howard Township were:

• Ty Johnson — Outstanding Player

• Dane Asmus — game ball

• Logan Cox — Sportsmanship

• Zach Henrich — Outstanding Player
