Buchanan area senior center wins euchre tournament

The Buchanan Area Senior Center brought back the traveling trophy from the monthly euchre tournament on Saturday, July 18.
The tournament, a friendly competition between local area senior centers, was held this month at the Buchanan center and was attended by 65 euchre players.
The winning team was Cheri Schulkins and Marilyn Holden with 59 points. Second place went also to Buchanan, with team members Gail Moad and Freida Barker logging 58 points.
Area senior centers play euchre at a different center on the third Saturday of each month at 1 p.m.
The hosting center provides a main dish and players bring additional food for lunch at noon. Pizza was served this month and Buchanan Area Senior Center volunteers handled set up, serving, and clean up.
The next tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the North Berrien Senior Center in Coloma. Call the Coloma center at (269) 468-3366 to register a team.
