Big inning lifts Rangers over Marlins

A six-run second inning lifted the Rangers over the Marlins in Greater Niles Baseball action at Thomas Stadium Monday night.

The Rangers, who also scored four runs in the fourth inning, defeated the Marlins 13-3 in five innings.

Jacob Frye and Cole Moore each had two hits for the Rangers. Terris Frick, Moore, Terry Carmichael and Dylan Lovelace all scored two runs.

Frye picked up the victory as he allowed three runs on three hits with seven strikeouts.

Jalen Briggs, Derrick Miller and Bryan Duffield had the lone hits for the Marlins. Devin Plew took the loss.
