Hardy signs with Cleary University

Niles’ Alex Hardy has decided to continue his academic and athletic career at Cleary University in Howell, Michigan.

Hardy, an infielder for the 24-12 Vikings, will major in finance at Cleary.

“I chose Cleary because of the fit and how it felt like home,” he said. “I was also looking into Trine University, Lake Michigan College and Grand Valley State University.”

Hardy, the son of Ron and Joanie Hardy, hit .310 with 31 hits, four doubles, 17 RBIs and was 13-of-14 in stolen bases this past season.

His had an on-base percentage of .386 and a slugging percentage of .350.
