Dec. 24, 1946 — July 3, 2015

Richard R. Farr passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 3, 2015. An only child, he was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on Dec. 24, 1946, to the late Earl F. and Carolyn (Wagner) Farr.

On Aug. 17, 1968, Richard married the love of his life, Joy A. (LaVine) Farr. She survives. Also left to cherish his memory are four children, Marian (Brian) Gosa of Niles, Randy Farr of Niles, Susan (Chris) Lottie of Las Vegas, and Joy (Matt) Shreve of Niles; seven grandchildren, Justin, Trevin, Tre and Taelyn Lottie, Trenton and Olivia Shreve and Cassie Gosa; and three great-grandchildren.

Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than anything. He was a fan of NASCAR, Indy 500 and enjoyed being outdoors. He retired from AM General in 2007 after 33 years of service. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 10, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Golden Oak Village Club House, 5150 Hamlin Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
