The fourth  Millpond Improvement Association’s multi-species fishing tournament had to endure some rain, but that did not dampen the success of the event.

The tournament raised $1,440, which will go toward the cost of having the dam inspected later this summer according to tournament director Rick O’Konski.

Dowagiac Mayor Don Lyons was on hand once again to award the cash prizes to the winning teams.

Walter DiLinn and Randy Stark took first place in the bass division with a total weight of 3.1 pounds.

Mark E. Barrett Jr. and Greg Schonbok were the winners in the carp division with a total weight of 141 pounds.

Nathan Wilson and Dan Wilson took first place in the bluegill division with an eight-inch fish.

First place in the crappie division went to Tammy Klimzak and Ryan Owen, who had a 10 1/2-inch fish.

The grand prize of a Motorguide 50-pound thrust trolling motor was Russ Lapham.
