In 2014, the Championship Flight saw a former champion, Scott Zavitz, reclaim his title as the city’s best golfer in dominating fashion.
Zavitz, who won the 2012 tournament, finished with a score of 153 and was the only person in the Championship Flight to finish beneath the 160 mark.
Bill Gaideski defeated Nick Horn in the first-hole of a sudden-death playoff to take home the “A” Flight title. The win would serve as Gaideski’s first division title victory. He shot 164 for the tournament.
Ryan “Ryno” Head took home the “B” Flight title with a score of 166; while “Superman” Mike Cowan won the “C” Flight, in his first tournament ever, with the score of 175.
Bob Freshley won his fourth Senior Championship of the last five tournaments with a score of 154.
The Senior “A” Flight was won by Harry Watson, who defeated Dave Daniels on the second-hole of a sudden-death playoff for the title. He finished the tournament at 170.
Niles’ Dick Noble successfully defended his Senior “B” Flight Championship with a score of 178.
