Jan. 14, 1962 — June 22, 2015

Sheryl passed away on June 22, 2015, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, North Carolina after a brave battle with metastatic cancer beginning in 2004.

Sheryl was born Jan. 14, 1962 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She attended schools in Buchanan, and Galien, Michigan. When she was little she loved her Brownie troop and taking ballet lessons. She was also an awesome softball player in her teens. Her first job was at a Tastee Freeze in Three Oaks, Michigan. After high school she worked for Clark Credit Corporation in Burnsville, Minnesota.

In addition to her parents, Orie and Sharron Krieger of Union Grove, North Carolina, she is survived by her ex-husband, William (Skip) Peckham. She is also survived by a daughter, Kelsey Peckham, and a nephew, Matthew Krieger of the home. She leaves behind two brothers, Anthony of Bremen, Indiana, and Timothy of Statesville and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was employed at Social Services in Statesville, North Carolina for 25 years as a fraud investigator. She had many dear friends there who took turns being by her side and whom she loved very much. They kept her smiling and happy when things were the bleakest. We thank you so much for helping Sheryl and being her true friends. Thank you also goes the Gordon Hospice House for their loving and compassionate care they gave to our precious Sheryl.

Services will be at the Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville, with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. and services at 3 p.m.

Cremation will take place later and there will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Kelsey Peckham and Matthew Krieger at 311 Fletcher Road, Union Grove, NC 28689
