Bucks’ Thomas, Adkerson first team all-state

Buchanan’s Jarrett Thomas and Chad Adkerson were named to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Division 3 All-State first team.

Brandywine’s Seth Brown was a second-team selection.

Thomas, Adkerson and Brown were also named to the Division 3 All-District team, along with Brandywine’s Cole Searles, Toby Fox and Matt Vaughn.

Buchanan’s Lonnie Hoover was named regional coach of the year.

Thomas was 9-1 for the Bucks with an ERA of 1.01 with 63 strikeouts in 62.3 innings of work.

Adkerson hit .449 with five doubles, three triples, 20 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.

Brown hit .418 with seven doubles, two triples, 19 RBIs and 27 stolen bases.

Searles hit .341 with 10 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 24 RBIs and 10 stolen bases, while Fox hit .370 with four doubles and 30 RBIs.

Vaughn was 7-3 with an ERA of 1.07 for the Bobcats with 58 strikeouts in 59 innings of work.

 

Academic All-Region/State

Buchanan’s Alex Lindamood and Brandywine’s Hunter Janowiak were both Division 3 Academic All-Region players.

The Bucks earned Division 3 Academic All-State honors with a team GPA of 3.260.
