Sally Ward, age 61, of Vandalia, formerly of Edwardsburg, died peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2015, in her residence, one day before her sixty-second birthday.

She was born June 26, 1953, in Paris, Illinois to Fielding and Marjory (Olson) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronnie Ward; and one brother, Tommy Smith.

Sally was an awesome cook and baker who taught her skills to her daughters and grandchildren. Her phone always had Celine Dion ringtones.

Sally will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Stacey Beers of Cromwell, Indiana; one son, Tracy (Janice) Smith of Vandalia; five step daughters, Rhonda (Calvin) Tomes of Paris, Illinois, Tonya (Randy) Blair of Kansas, Illinois, Danita Powell of Brockton, Illinois, Penny (Jim) Baker of Vandalia, Marcella Ward of Three Rivers; fourteen grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers, Jessie Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, Roger (Linda) Smith of Huntington Beach, California, Frank (Marty) Smith of Shirkieville, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will observe a private remembrance. Mrs. Ward will be laid to rest in Adamsville Cemetery in Edwardsburg.
