Thirteen teams from Edwardsburg participated in the 2015 Relay for Life raising money for the American Cancer Society.

The teams raised more than $13,500 for American Cancer Society.  The relay was held at the Edwardsburg Middle School in the parking lot with fun laps of Scrabble, Poker rounds, frozen T-shirt contests and even Zumba for an hour.

Participants said the highlight was the opening “Survivors” lap and then the final “Luminary” lap, held to honor loved ones that have lost their battle to cancer.

The teams silently walked the last laps reading all the names of loved ones to pay their respect.

Relay leaders say it was a heartwarming moment for many as they stopped to take pictures of their loved ones’ decorated luminary bags.
