Gerald Lee “Jerry” Litty, age 67 years of Niles, Michigan died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born on December 13, 1947, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Frederick L. and Frances L. (Brooks) Litty. He was graduated from Niles High School, and lived in Niles most of his life. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era, serving in the United States Army.

Jerry loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed taking nature walks along the Dowagiac Creek, and watching the wildlife. At home, he could be found feeding the birds and squirrels.

Surviving family includes his daughters, Angela (and Scott) Pearson of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Nicole Panczak of Niles, and Amy Panczak of Dowagiac; and a brother Roger Litty, of Niles.

Services for Gerald Litty will be at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, and will conclude with the Veteran’s Flag Presentation and Taps by the United States Army Honor Guard.
