Anthony J. Michienzi, 94, of Niles, Michigan died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Buchanan Meadow in Buchanan, Michigan, of natural causes.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1920, in Niles, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Ponesa) Michienzi. He lived in Niles all his life, and was employed at the Cook Nuclear Plant.

On May 21, 1948 in Angola, Indiana he married the former Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Gard with whom he celebrated the 52nd anniversary of their wedding prior to her death on Oct. 23, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Michienzi who died on Sept. 23, 1978, and siblings, Josephine Consetta Michienzi, Veronica Frucci, and Anna Vincent.

The family of Tony Michienzi is gathering for committal rites at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Mission Hills, read by Deacon Roger Gregorski of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles.
