Peters, Carter receive Honor Credit Union scholarships

ST. JOSEPH — Honor Credit Union has announced the recipients of the 2015 Community Commitment Scholarships.

Honor Credit Union’s community fund supports local graduating seniors through scholarships. Thirteen students each received $1,000 to be used towards furthering their education. Reinforcing Honor Credit Union’s dedication to supporting the local community, an emphasis on community involvement and extracurricular activities was part of the Community Commitment Scholarship application. The following students exemplify community commitment and are positive role models through their community service and academic success:

Delaney Peters – Edwardsburg High School

Emilee Lokken – Negaunee High School

Emily Courter – Paw Paw High School

Jacob Borys – Paw Paw High Schoool

Jesper Ke – St. Joseph High School

Jessica Foster – St. Joseph High School

John R. Hogeboom – Lakeshore High School

Madeline Carter   – Edwardsburg High School

Mason Bruce – Gwinn High School

Michael Zol Wiitala – Marquette Senior High School

Ryan Potts – Lakeshore High School
