Tyler T. Layton, 22, of Granger, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015, in Mishawaka.

He was born on April 6, 1993, to John T. Layton and Brandy T. Hartstein.

He graduated from Penn High School, class of 2012 and had recently worked for Tag in Elkhart. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and country. Tyler had a passion for any motor that he could move or work on. He absolutely loved cars, especially DSMs. He also enjoyed going to the DSM Shootout.

Many remember him driving his Eagle Talon, Mustang as well as snowmobiles and four-wheelers. He also enjoyed building model cars with grandparents and was a talented artist, including being able to tattoo himself and friends. Those who knew him best would describe him as loving, caring, respectful and said had a great sense of humor.

Tyler was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Thomas Brigham, grandfather Kenneth Layton, his cousin Charles Evans and an uncle, Steve Brigham.

He is survived by his father John T. Layton of Indianapolis, his mother Brandy T. Hartstein (Brian Bunch) of Granger, a sister Alyssa Hartstein of Granger, his grandparents; Eleanor Firestone of Indianapolis, William and Charlene Hartstein of Niles and Philip and Carol Kee of Granger, a very special girlfriend, as well as a hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and many other countless lives he touched.

A time of visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, May 31, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with an interment to follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
