State Rep. Aaron Miller today invited local ministers to join him and other lawmakers for an evening of prayer for Michigan on June 2 in Lansing.
Rep. Miller, R-Sturgis, is a member of the Legislative Prayer Caucus, which is hosting the event. It is currently planned for 5 p.m. June 2 at the Central United Methodist Church, 215 N. Capitol Ave., directly across the street from the Capitol building. If attendance is high, the event will be moved to the Capitol lawn.
“This is an opportunity to establish a relationship between government leaders and the ministry to serve as a united effort to call Michigan residents to pray for our state,” Rep. Miller said. “Our state is facing many challenges, and we believe that prayer is the first thing we should be found doing diligently for our leaders, our government and our future.”
Members of the clergy who plan to attend the event may RSVP via email by Tuesday, May 26 to MiPrayerCaucus@gmail.com, or for more information contact Rep. Miller at 517-373-0832.
“I truly believe prayer produces results, and urge ministers from throughout Southwestern Michigan to join us for this solemn gathering,” Rep. Miller said. “This is a chance for our church and government leaders to join together and seek God’s will.”
