Mary Doris “Pat” Bundas, 88, of Vandalia, died peacefully Friday, May 15, 2015, in Cass County Medical Care Facility in the presence of her family.

She was born May 4, 1927, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Henry and Celina (Bryar) Burton. She married Andrew Joseph Bundas June 21, 1947, in Dearborn, Michigan. He preceded her in death Jan. 1, 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia Daley; two sisters, Kathryn Sabal, Jeannette Umlauf, five brothers, Joseph Edward Burton, Bobby Burton, Auriel Burton, his twin Gerald Burton, Donald Burton; two sisters in law, Lula “Pat” Burton, Delores Kurek; and five brothers in law, Gerald Hively, Al Agge, Mitch Sabal, James Umlauf, and Eugene Kurek.

Her Mom gave all of the girls the first name “Mary,” so each of the girls went by their middle names. All of her husband’s family and their friends called her “Pat.” Mary Doris “Pat” taught her children the meaning of family. Having her family around her was all that was important to her.

Mary will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by four daughters, Donna (Chet) Przysiecki of Saint Augustine, Florida, Andrea (Tim) Veldstra of Jenks, Oklahoma, Sally (Gary) Muscat of Vandalia, Michigan, Marilyn (Joe) Jean of Higgins Lake, Michigan; four sons, Michael (Rita) Bundas of Tampa, Florida, Andrew (Marilyn) Bundas of Petosky, Michigan, Edward (Jean) Bundas of Seattle, Washington; John (Lori) Bundas of Saline, Michigan; twenty two grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; one son in law, Richard Daley of Walpole, Massachusetts; three sisters, Barbara Hively of Fowlerville, Michigan, Beverly (Harry) Demmers of Oscoda, Michigan, Lorraine Agge of Belleville, Michigan; one brother, Tom Burton of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters in law, Evelyn Burton of Phoenix, Arizona; Theresa (Ed) Markie of Lotus, California; one brother in law, Joe (Joan) Bundas of Oscoda, Michigan; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family will observe a private remembrance and include memories and stories of Mary in the upcoming family reunion in July.
