Brandywine rallies to beat Newaygo 11-7

GRANDVILLE — A five-run fourth inning helped Brandywine erase a 7-2 deficit against Newaygo at Fifth Third Bank Park Wednesday.

The Bobcats rallied to beat Newaygo 11-7 to improve to 18-4 on the season.

In the pivotal fourth inning, Brandywine exploded for five runs highlighted by an RBI double by Zack Grishaber, a run-scoring single by Toby Fox, a passed ball and a two-run error by Newaygo.

The Bobcats finished with 12 hits on the day, including doubles by two by Grishaber. Cole Searles and Hunter Janowiak also doubled for Brandywine.

Matt Vaughn picked up the victory in relief.
