The Niles baseball team captured the Bryan Frazier Memorial Tournament at Rotary Park by beating host Dowagiac 11-0 and Bridgman 12-2.

Both games lasted six innings.

The Chieftains ended up 1-1 on the day as they defeated Bridgman 6-4 in the final game of the round robin tournament.

In the opening game, Dowagiac managed just three hits off of Niles’ Wyatt Thornton, who struck out five.

Dudley, Smith and Walker had the three Chieftain hits.

The Vikings finished with 17 hits, including a 3-for-3 performance from Jordan Ham, which included a triple. Drew Huffman, Thornton, Jason Hoida, Bryce Lake and Jacob Hamm all had two hits.

Hoida and Hamm both doubled, while Ham and Huffman both tripled for Niles.

In the second game, the Vikings (12-6) got a three-hitter from Hamm.

Niles finished with night hits, including doubles from Thornton, Chris Frantz and Jake Huffman.

Against Bridgman, Dowagiac scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth and then held on for the victory.

The Chieftains finished with 12 hits in the contest, including two each from Daquan Brooks, Matt Smith, Aubrey Huston and Eric Walker. Huston and Smith both doubled.

Brenden Dudley picked up the victory as he worked the first five innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Brooks worked an inning and a third before giving way to Mason Hojara, who went the final two-third innings to pick up a save.
