Registration begins today for the second annual Summer My Way program.

The summer camp is available at no cost to the first 300 Niles Community Schools students who register.

People can register online at nb-ymca.org.

Students who are not enrolled in Niles Community Schools, or those who missed the no-cost registration, can register at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA for $95 per week. Summer My Way will be held at Ballard Elementary School.

Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 6 through Aug. 14. Before and aftercare options are available for an additional cost at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA. Transportation will be provided to and from the camp.

Summer My Way is a way to provide a fun summer experience to children who would not otherwise have an opportunity to attend summer camp.

Each session lasts two weeks and consists of three activity tracks. Track subjects include: Around the World, Mad Scientist, and Movin’ and Fuelin’.

The special interest activities offer a variety of fun experiences for students to choose from each two-week segment. Every two-week segment, students will choose one track activity of their choice and two special activities choices.

Some of the new specials this year are: First Aid, Reading makes Cents (Learning about money), Splish Splash (Experiments and activities focusing on water), and Adventures in Wonderland, Harry Potter, Game Show Mania, Harry Potter, Secret Agent Training, Color Wars and Shark Tank.
