Sept. 29, 1953 — April 28, 2015

Diane Christine Moss, 61, of Niles, passed away at the Merlin and Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan, on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

Diane was born on Sept. 29, 1953, to the late Joseph and Ruth (Lawrie) Gustin in Logansport, Indiana. Diane wed Vern Moss Jr. at a ceremony in Indianapolis. Together the two had three children. Diane was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and woman who had a zest for life, a great sense of humor and made friends wherever she went. She had a very positive outlook on life and always had a knack for bringing out the best in everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth; sister, Jane Norman; and twin brother, David Gustin.

Diane is survived by her husband of 37 years, Vern Moss Jr. of Niles; children, William (Jody) Moss of Indianapolis, Indiana, Vern (Ileana) Moss III of Chicago, Illinois and Sarah (Tony) Chan of Chicago; grandchildren, Kelsea, Serenity, Abigale, Alexi, Jaymeson, Xavier, Xander and Jayden; and siblings Jo Ann Matejka of Indianapolis, and Michael (Mona) Gustin of Indianapolis.

In keeping with Diane’s wishes she has been cremated, so that she could finally reach her goal weight. Her family will be holding a celebration of her life in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at her son Bill’s home. A celebration of her life will be held at the Hanson Hospice Center this spring by the nurses and staff whom she lovingly called her friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Diane’s memory to the Merlin and Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center located at 4382 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI 49127.
