Buchanan slips past Dowagiac 2-1

Jada Meahl scored in the 66th minute to lift visiting Buchanan to a 2-1 non-conference soccer victory Thursday.
The loss kept Dowagiac winless on the season.
The two teams were deadlocked at 1-1 following the opening 40 minutes of action as the Bucks’ Jessica Lee scored in the 18th minute off an assist from Haley DeFreez and the Chieftains’ Cali Rank scored in the 35th minute off an assist from Mara Nelson.
Grace Younger stopped 23 shots for Dowagiac, while Alyssa Rausch stopped nine for Buchanan.
