Edwardsburg coach A.J. Gaideski reached a milestone when the Eddies swept Allegan in Wolverine Conference non-divisional baseball action Tuesday.

The Eddies won the opening game 12-0 in five innings, which gave Gaideski win No. 300.

Edwardsburg completed the sweep with an 11-1 win in six innings for win No. 301.

Gaideski, now in his 17th year at the helm of the Edwardsburg program, entered the season with a 296-189 record.

“Winning 300 games means that we have had a lot of very good players and assistant coaches,” Gaideski said. “They are the reason for all of the wins. Each player and coach make my job easy by the way they perform and the hard work they put forth during practice and games.

“I have been very blessed by having a great support system here at school and from my wife and family at home.”

Following Tuesday’s sweep, the Eddies are 5-5 on the year.

In the first game, Edwardsburg banged out eight hits, including doubles by Derek Pierce, Jackson Gaideski, Jason Reinebold and Dalton Raymond.

Damion Pompey tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts to pick up the victory.

In the nightcap, Mason Mitchell and Joe Raab both doubled while Raymond homered and drove in four runs.

Ke’von Taylor picked up the victory.
