William and Peggy Pettie French, of Niles, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 30. They were married July 30, 1949, at St. Mary’s Church in Niles.

William is a retired tool and die maker, and Peggy is a homemaker.

They have seven children: Teri French Besch, of Georgia, Jeannette Cawley Nash, of Portage, Joe French, of Buchanan, Tony French, of Plainwell, Cathy French Morton, of Dowagiac, Paul French, of Niles and Beth French Campbell, of South Bend.

They have 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

William and Peggy celebrated at the home of Cathy and RB Morton, in Dowagiac. All seven children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren were present.
