Birds celebrate 65th anniversary

Harvey and Simone Bird, of Niles, celebrated the 65th anniversary of their wedding on July 30.
Harvey and Simone Bird were married in Tilbury, Ontario.

Harvey’s work moved them to Michigan, where they have lived for all of their married life. They both became U.S. citizens. Harvey served with the Canadian Navy and worked for Marathon before retiring. Simone was a homemaker before working as a nurse at Healthwin Hospital. They have four children: Phillip (Mary Ann), Gerry (Barb), Yvonne (Tim) and Patty (Bill).
Grandchildren include Bruce Bird, Adam (Kristine) Bird, Joshua (Katie) Bird, Jared (Anna) Bird, Jason (Ashley) Bird, Sean Niven, Matt Niven, Sarah (Casey) Bartman, Greg (Stephanie) Teeter and Kim (John) Teeter.
Great-grandchildren include Ava, Michael, Elliot and Amelia Bird, Joshua Niven and Audrey Teeter.
They celebrated July 26, 2014, at the home of their daughter.
They have traveled extensively but are now happy to have family travel to them.
