She was born on Nov. 22, 1921, in White Cloud, Michigan to Emery N. and Marguerite L. (Petersen) Murry. Dorothy was a member of the First Church of God in Niles, and had formerly attended the Grace Brethren Church in South Bend. She also participated in the Bible Study at the Four Flags Plaza. She enjoyed reading — usually mysteries — and crafts, especially ceramics.

On June 24, 1950, in Centreville, Michigan she married Evard D. Schuder with whom she celebrated the 47th anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on April 28, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by two brothers, Emery Murry and Joseph Murry.

Surviving family includes her sisters, Sharon (Richard) Dircks of Niles, Marguerite Thomas of Reynolds Station, Kentucky, and Doris (Edward) Kramer of Shidler, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Maureen (Mrs. Emery) Murry of Portage, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

The service for Dorothy Schuder will be at the Graveside in Milford Cemetery, Milford, Indiana at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, with the Rev. Robert Jackson of the First Church of God in Niles officiating.
