Bobcats after second straight title

The Brandywine tennis team will have three of the four top seeds in the doubles flights at the Division 4 Regional Tournament Monday at Leeper Park in South Bend.

The regional was originally scheduled for Thursday, but due to wet and cold conditions forecast through Saturday, the event was moved to Monday.

The Bobcats are going after their second consecutive regional championship. Last year, Brandywine finished with 26 points to defeat Class B schools Paw Paw and Berrien Springs.

The championship was their fifth in the last seven years.

The Bobcats earned the top seeds for the second, third and fourth doubles flights. Brandywine is seeded second at No. 1 doubles.

In singles, the Bobcats are seeded fourth at No. 1, 2 and 3. At No. 4 singles, Brandywine is seeded second.

No. 2 singles – Eishaa Rehman vs. Casey Clark (Eau Claire)

No. 3 singles – Hallie Carnes vs. Heather Miller (Buchanan)

No. 4 singles – Emily Erwin vs. Kahtana Chrismon (Cassopolis) or Micaela Ruff (Dowagiac)

No. 1 doubles – Katie Rose-Alli Srmek vs. Destiny Frank-Brianna Steele (Cassopolis) or Rachel Ibarra-Madison Bowdish (Constantine)

No. 2 doubles – Allie Wilson-Genesis Martin vs. Alyssa Lindquist (Eau Claire) or Sarah LaSata-Ellen Peters (LMC)

No. 3 doubles – Rachael Szilagyi-Alyssa Bolen vs. Kassie Bogucki-Samantha Mulder (Constantine) or Courtney Kraschel-Alexis Kraschel (Coloma)

No. 4 doubles – Shaylee Smith-Olivia DePriest vs. Brenda Lewellen-Carly Lentz (Coloma) or Lexi Chorba-Mary Bonomo (Dowagiac)
