Robin Kay Donley, 52, of Dowagiac, passed away, Sunday, May 11, 2014, in Dowagiac.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, at Creekside Church, 108 Cass Ave., Dowagiac with Pastor Jamie Saylor officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Robin was born April 21, 1962, to Robert and Patsy (Norwood) Nickens in Berrien Center, Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Robin enjoyed baking cookies and cakes for her family and friends. She loved fishing as well as spending time with her sisters and other family members. She enjoyed making quilts, working puzzles and riding her bike. She was a very giving and loving person with a kind heart. She was everyone’s caregiver and looked out for all her friends and neighbors.

Robin always encouraged her children to do good, read the Bible and be kind to others. She helped many of her neighbors at Chestnut Towers and was a friend to all. They will miss her popcorn.

Robin’s neighbors expressed how much they cared for her and will miss her kindness, friendship and smiling face.

She is survived by three children, Megan Nickens of Indianapolis, Indiana, Perrice Nickens of Kalamazoo, Michigan and David Donley of Dowagiac; siblings, Robert and Shirley Nickens of Dowagiac, Michigan, Ronald and Kathy Nickens of South Bend, Indiana, Donald and Angelia Nickens of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Veronica and Gonzalis Shivers of Dowagiac, LeeClay and Bertha Nickens of South Bend, Indiana, Barbara and Robert Scott of Decatur, Michigan, Tracy and Christen Nickens of Lansing, Michigan and August Nickens of Kalamazoo. She also had seven grandchildren; two uncles, LC Nickens of Dowagiac and Earl Norwood of Niles; two aunts, Gracy Norwood of Tennessee and Matty Norwood of Memphis; lifelong friends, Kathren White, Judy Ward, Angelia, George Crump and Delores; and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Patsy Nickens; sisters, Teresa Gasgill and Cassandra Nickens and grandparents and nephew Darius Nickens.
