‘Explore Michiana’ through the lens

Published 9:28 am Thursday, May 15, 2014

If a picture is truly worth a thousand words then Leader Publications wants to have a long conversation about “Exploring Michiana.”

Time is running out for professional photographers and amateur shutterbugs alike to share their pictures of the region we call home — all in the name of earning a chance to win more than $500 in prizes.

Our newest photo contest, which ends Friday, is a great opportunity to share your creativity and also showcase the wonderful people, places and events of southwest Michigan and northern Indiana.

If the appeal of winning one of two $250 gift cards or free pizzas from Niles’ Pizza Transit isn’t enough, how about having your photographs showcased in our upcoming special edition that is designed to help lifelong residents and first-time visitors see what they’ve been missing?

More than 30,000 copies will be distributed across the entire region, so it is a platform to have your artistic eye on display for everyone to see.

To enter simply go to our website at www.leaderpub.com and click on the contest tab in the top right corner of the homepage. All the rules and instructions can be found there.

Our goal with this glossy, magazine-style publication is to highlight the unique communities here, showcase all the great things to do, help grow local businesses and promote economic investment right here at home.

Explore Michiana will be distributed at hundreds of locations along the coast and throughout the dual-state area at the end of the month, just in time for vacation season.

You do not have to go far for relaxation, culture, entertainment or other activities usually associated with vacation opportunities. Everything you need is right here.

So grab your camera and get out to explore and discover Michiana.
