Dr. Paul Randal Miluk, 56, of Niles, died on Friday, April 18, 2014, at his home, unexpectedly.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1958, in Dearborn, Mich. to Paul R. and Lillian D. (Kostek) Miluk. He was graduated from Saint Mary’s Preparatory in Orchard Lake, Mich.; earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan; and earned a doctorate degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Miluk was a cardiologist, and was retired from the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Ill. He enjoyed running — nearly daily — and had participated in several area races.

On March 20, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nev. he married the former Mary Ellen Barnard, who survives. Also surviving are Mary’s daughters, Kelly (Thomas) Corder and Stacy Milen, both of Wyandotte, Mich.; grandchildren Mackenzie Milen, Reagan Sautural, and Reilly Sautural; and Randy’s sisters, Geralyn Miluk of Dearborn and Cynthia Miluk-Kusman of Venice, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Dr. Paul R. Miluk will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Alan Mock of The Vineyard Church of Mishawaka, Ind. officiating. Interment will be private at Saint Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Mich.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m. In honor of Dr. Miluk’s passion for cardiology, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
