The Dowagiac golf team opened its season by winning the Niles Quad at Orchard Hills Thursday.

The Chieftains, led by co-medalists Christian Hess and Ross Tidey, shot 183 as a team.

Niles was second with a 197, Cassopolis third with a 226 and Buchanan fourth with a 236.

Hess and Tidey both shot 44 for Dowagiac.

Nick Bokowski led Niles with a 48, while Cassopolis was led by Colin Kelley’s 53. Blake Herwick shot 49 for the Bucks.
