Dowagiac track teams split with Edwardsburg

The Dowagiac boys track team defeated Edwardsburg in its season and Wolverine Conference opener Tuesday.
The Chieftains got past the Eddies 70-57. In the girl’s portion of the meet, Edwardsburg defeated Dowagiac 77-49.
Kenny Cremeans won both the discus (119-0) and shot put (41-10) for the Chieftains.
Dowagiac swept the relay events, however names were not given for 3,200 or 1,600-meter events.
Kyle Solloway, Erik Walker, Brandon Winchester-Jones, David Ironside won the 800-meters with a time of 1:37, while Leroy Lewis, Kevin Whitaker, Walker and Winchester-Jones won the 400-meters with a time of 49.48.
Hazel Kennedy was a double winner for the Chieftain girls as she captured the shot put (31-11) and the discus (88-11).
Nijah Russell won the 100- and 200-meters with times of 12.54 and 27.24 respectively.
