Christine Hoffman, owner of Niles Styles, and Melody Colburn, of Melody Colburn Insurance Agency, are “lighting up blue” for autism awareness this month.

Now through the end of April, Hoffman will be collecting donations to support Niles autistic students at Niles Styles, 224 E. Main St., Niles.

Colburn said organizers want to bring attention to the fact that autism affects one out of every 68 children and one in every 48 boys.

The organization is accepting cash and checks made out to Niles Community Schools.

The container will be at Niles Styles until the end of April.

In recognition of autism awareness month, Niles Styles has on display a blue lamp in its window.
