Virjilio Ramon “Ve” Echevarria, 30, of Cassopolis, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. following a lifelong struggle with congenital heart disease. He was born March 30, 1983, in Berrien Springs, Mich. to Virjilio & Karen Helene (Marrs) Echevarria.

Ve attended Niles Schools, was employed by Diamond Lake Marina and often went fishing and boating on the lake. He also enjoyed ice fishing and hunting. He was known as a genuinely nice guy and would not hesitate to help someone in need.

Ve is survived by his parents, Virjilio and Karen Echevarria of Niles, grandmother Isabel Echevarria of South Bend, a sister, Jennifer Pickens of Cassopolis, a brother, Jason (Angel) Echevarria of Buchanan . Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Jazmine and Cardan Pickens, Preston Prentice, Joey Romanski, Seairra Romanski, Jazmin Romanski, Amelio Echevarria, Neviah Lintz and Izabel Hoskin, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Halbritter Funeral Home. The family will gather privately for services.
